Martial arts expert and Bollywood film producer Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty, who hails from Mangaluru, is all set to direct a Hollywood film ‘He is Back’, which honours late actor and martial artist Bruce Lee. It will see him debut as a director.
The movie is woven around martial arts and aims to encourage thousands of martial art lovers from across the globe. Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Shetty said that the film will star Abb Li, popularly known as the Afghan Bruce Lee and Alina Lliumzhinova, a Russian actor, as the female lead. The film’s cast is all set to have actors from Hollywood and China. The film muhuratham was held recently in Dubai. It is being produced by WAWEL PICTURES. Amarjit Shetty, from Ninjoor Pictures, who is the wife of Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty, is the co-producer of the film.
Abb Li is an ardent fan of the late Bruce Lee, and has been looking to work in a Bollywood film from the past half-decade, but his dream did not materialise. He used to practice martial arts in his country Afghanistan, despite facing many hardships. Abb Li has developed his body like Bruce Lee. “The entire movie revolves around how a poor boy changes the world,” he said.
The budget of the movies is around Rs 80-Rs 90 crore. The shooting will commence from February 2019, and the film is expected to hit screens by the end of next year, said Cheetah.
