Chitah Yajness Shetty is also a renowned Martial Art and Action instructor and teacher who has personally trained most of the artists who are presently ruling the world of Cinema.

Chitah Yajness Shetty was born in Bankal Village of Karnataka to Dr. Shrinivas Shetty and Mrs. Gulabi Shetty on 1/8/1965 and studied in Ninjoor school and Manipal Junior College till 12th class .

After completing his 12th std. Chitah Yajness Shetty left school and joined Hotel Valley View International Health Club as Apprentice Trainee Waiter where intitally he was working in the room service section of the hotel where many foreigners who were students of Kasturba Medical College used to stay as they had come to India to become doctors. One such Medical student Mr. Sensi Ooi from China was a dental student who used to practice Martial Art in the premises of the hotel which Martial Art fascinated Chitah who used to leave his work and every day he kept watching Sensi Ooi practicing and subsequently Chitah began practicing the Martial Art being performed by Sensi Ooi.

However one day Sensi Ooi caught Chitah peeping and watching him perform Martial Art and he warned Chitah that he can not invade his privacy and that he will complain to Senior Authority of hotel but Chitah begged him that he had got the job with great difficulty and though he promised Mr. Sensi Ooi never to watch Martial Art of Sensi Ooi Chitah could not control himself and kept watching Sensi Ooi performing and practicing whatever he could learn.

One day Chitah made the mistake of asking Sensi Ooi if he can teach him Martial Art but Sensi Ooi complained to the hotel authorities and Chitah was transferred to other department as he was a very good worker who was capable of cleaning the banquet hall alone and hence he was not sacked and as time passed Chitah kept on practicing Martial Art and one day after 2 years while practicing Martial Art in the Plant Room of the hotel he tried to jump like Sensi Ooi and as he did not know the proper technique Chitah fell directly on his head which began bleeding very badly and he became unconscious and had to be hospitalized and Doctors had to operate and give eight stitches on the head.

On hearing this news of Chitah hurting himself while performing Martial Art Sensi Ooi came to the hospital as he was worried about him and after Chitah got discharged from hospital Sensi Ooi asked him to come to a park where Sensi Ooi started training Chitah in the art of Mixed Martial Art.

Sensi Ooi had learnt Jeet Kune-Do which he taught to Chitah and after 3 years Sensi Ooi finished his medical course and vacated the hotel. Chitah was alone without teacher but he kept practicing Martial Art and Jeet Kune-Do.

After sometime one forest officer who had done black belt commando training was Chitah's partner for sparring due to which they became good friends and used to spend lot of time together during which the forest officer used to take Chitah along with him to a " Machan" he had built on the branch of a huge tree from where he used to watch and take action against the hunters and sandalwood smugglers entering the forest to kill animals and to cut trees as the officer was the guardian for that area and Chitah used to spend time with the officer on the " Machan". One day in the Lake in the forest Chitah saw a real Cheetah walking with very slow graceful moves and in front of the Cheetah there was a deer who was drinking water in the lake. The Cheetah moved little back and jumped from the edge of the lake ,picked up the deer and jumped to the other side of the lake without touching the ground.

On seeing the cleverness , speed and power of the Cheetah , ChitahYajness Shetty put himself psychologically in place of the Cheetah and began practicing the movement as to how Cheetah aims , its quick reflex, concentration, cunningness, speed , power and he put all these things together and made a special workout combining it with his training of Jeet Kune-Do.

He studied and planned his training programme of Jeet Kune-Do involving the real Cheetahs special body language, how it runs, how it smells, how it approaches its prey, its reflex when it sleeps and its reaction towards even a small sound , how it jumps on the tree branch, the power it uses to hit the head of the bull, by watching it and studying it closely for more than a year in the jungle Chitah converted the same into a training programme which training was imparted by him to lot of students.

The experience of studying and learning the tricks and techniques of real Cheetah came handy for Chitahyajness when he had a hand to hand fight with a real Cheetah in Mumbai in 1984 where he went to meet the Forest Officer who was earlier in the jungle and as the Forest Officer was looking after a place where wild animals were locked up in safety enclosures and Chitahyajness wanted to shoot photographs of the real Cheetah making its move as well as with himself. When Chitahyajness entered the forest with the photographer and the videographer he asked about the Officer who had gone out for some meeting but had advised his staff about Chitahyajness and on inquiry the worker in the jungle showed one cage containing a small and thin Cheetah whereas Chitahyajness was interested in huge Cheetah who was kept in another cage and asked the worker to allow him to take photographs and video of the huge Cheetah and very reluctantly the worker agreed and gave the cage key to Chitahyajness who opened the lock and went inside the cage where the huge Cheetah was tied by an iron chain on its neck and another chain tied to its leg but as soon as Chitahyajness opened the cage door he felt a cyclone moving towards him as the Cheetah broke its chains tied to its neck and leg and came out of the cage.

Seeing this the photographer and the videographer ran away. Chitahyajness was directly in front of the huge animal Cheetah who jumped on his head but Chitah yajness ducked and suddenly he felt that he is going to die and the Cheetah started biting his leg and suddenly he pulled Chitahyajness and hit his head against the tree and when he felt back Chitahyajness caught the neck of the huge Cheetah and kept dragging him all around the ground and the nail of the Cheetah went deep into his forearm and Chitahyajness was crying for help but nobody came to help him and Chitahyajness felt it was the last stage of his life when suddenly somebody shouted and asked him to catch the tail of Cheetah and pull. With great effort . Chitahyajness was able to get hold of the tail and put all his strength in pulling the tail which controlled the Cheetah and after sometime few people came with some anesthetic injection for Cheetah and brought him under control and Chitahyajness was badly bleeding with bruises and deep wounds and

was taken to hospital where he was admitted and there he learnt that the Cheetah with whom he had the encounter was not a trained and tamed Cheetah but had recently been captured from the jungle and was brought just 3 days back and had already eaten the hand of one of the men who was feeding him mutton. The Forest Officer was livid with rage at the worker who gave the key of the cage to Chitah yajness, his power and presence of mind he had got out from Cheetahs claws.

Thereafter in 1986 in the Ganpati festival Chitah took the Ganpati Idol of the society for immersion in the beach at Versova, 7 Bungalow where thousands of people were present and as their idol was very big eight persons carried the idol to the water and Chitah was holding the idol from the back. When they went inside the sea it was low tide but the water level rose as they dipped the idol in the sea and suddenly there was quick sand where he was standing and Chitah was sucked in the sea by under water currents and he could not swim as his legs had become stiff and he lost energy and drowned 25 feet below. Chitah had confidence in his ability to survive and started praying to God and his parents and after one hour and fifteen minutes suddenly a fisherman came in a boat and threw a rope which Chitah caught and tried to came up but the rope broke and Chitah again went back into the sea. A police officer named Raja Sawant came to save Chitah but before reaching the spot he also got drowned and later he was rescued but fortunately for Chitah the second rope thrown towards him did not break and he pulled himself out of the under water currents. The fisherman took Chitah to the shore and got him admitted to hospital and on the other bed was Raja Sawant who was put on glucose whereas Chitah was fine and was walking here and there.

Due to his ability to control his breathing under water as result of which Chitah could survive which really surprised Police Commissioner Mr. Julio Riberio who came to hospital to see inspector Raja Sawant and asked Chitah as to who had drowned he or Raja Sawant who had gone to save him. The reason why Chitah survived was because of Martial Art and Jeet Kune-Do because as per the fisherman and the locals of the area this was the first time that somebody had come out alive after being stuck in the under water currents of that area.

Chitah's training had a lot of benefit for children and also adult as most of the diseases are cured and doing the work out makes a toned body and it makes the student who is learning the course change positively gaining self-respect, confidence, balance , self defense , respect for others, personality development, avoids stress in daily life for growing kids, courtesy, increases self-awareness and helps them become best citizens of the country as well as of society.

Chitah has proved that his training is best and excellent as he has trained hundreds of individuals and he has students in Bollywood as well as actors of Hollywood films as well as corporate field and he has been in the field of training Martial Art for 30 years and has trained number of film stars who have openly acknowledged how training under Chitah has helped them in their daily life.
